About

Environmental remediation is the process of removing pollutants or contaminants from environmental media such as soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water. This multidisciplinary field of study and applied practice investigates the nature, extent, and behavior of contaminants and develops and implements diverse physical, chemical, biological, and engineering methods aimed at restoring environmental quality, mitigating risks to human health and ecosystems, and enabling beneficial reuse of affected sites.
